Verschiedene Beiträge wie Essays, Interviews, Erzählungen oder Foto- und Videobeiträge vermitteln einen genaueren Blick auf die Interessen der ausstellenden Künstler und reflektieren Themen, die unsere Gesellschaft, Politik und Kultur betreffen.

Mophradat’s Arts Fellows Program @ Portikus

Mophradat’s Arts Fellows program is a project initiated and supported by Mophradat, a non-profit contemporary arts association based in Brussels that creates opportunities for thinking, producing, and sharing among contemporary artists from the Arab world and their peers everywhere.
Portikus is an institution for contemporary art in Frankfurt am Main. Since its foundation in 1987 and as a fundamental element of the renowned art academy Städelschule, Portikus is dedicated to exhibit, publish and discuss young and emerging as well as established artists and their work.


In collaboration with Mophradat Portikus offers an eight-week part-time (3 days per week) paid training program
for arts curators, managers, producers, and administrators of Arab origin living in Frankfurt.

Start and end date: September 1st – October 31th.

Application deadline: July 8, 2018

Please note that this opportunity is not a residency program for artists.


Applicants must have at least three years of experience as curators, managers, producers, and administrators in a field of contemporary arts (all disciplines are welcome).

Applicants must speak German and/or English and have basic computer skills.

Applicants must have been living in the region of Rhein-Main (around Frankfurt/ Offenbach/ Wiesbaden) of the program for at least one year.

Applicants must be from the Arab world or be of recent Arab origin.

Applicants must be available to commit themselves fully to the program from September 1, 2018.

Holding a degree in an arts discipline or related cultural field is preferred.

Students enrolled in undergraduate or Masters’ programs are not eligible to apply.

A. CV/resume: Please list all educational and professional background, and include your name, home address, phone number, email, date and place of birth, and your citizenship.

B. Cover letter: In 500 words or less, please describe your past experience of working in the arts, and explain what skills and knowledge you expect to develop during this training period.
